I am a conservation geneticist interested in understanding how landscape changes due to human activities affect species dispersal, gene flow, and local adaptation at multiple spatial scales, with a particular interest in vulnerable plant and animal populations.

To address these research topics I aim to combine genetic, ecological, and spatial data to better inform conservation and management strategies.

Research Interest

Population Genetics and Genomics

  • Relationship between genetic diversity and population size.
  • Inbreeding and bottleneck effects.
  • Population genetic structure.
  • Neutral and adaptive (immunogenetic) genetic variations.

Landscape Genetics &
Local Adaptation

  • Link between gene flow and landscape structure (functional connectivity).
  • Spatial scales of gene flow.
  • Patterns of local adaptation in presence of gene flow.
Conservation Biology

  • Conservation value of small and isolated populations.
  • Landscape connectivity in fragmented landscapes.
  • Habitat fragmentation and climate change on species responses.
